Feeling Pulled In Every Direction? Anchor Yourself With A Few Key Healthy Habits.

Feeling torn  and pulled in every direction is a very stressful way to feel in your days and weeks. With all the debate in the news, new restrictions, and the different ways you’re feeling pressure right now, the easy thing to do would be to eat crap food, stay up late and drink more wine.

Through challenges we grow and 2020 is the biggest test of them all. What happens to a lot of people when the going gets tough, is their healthy habits go out the window, leaving them feel worse. I see this all the time and it kills me to watch, because I know they’re going to feel ten times worse. It’s the worse thing you could do, even though at the time, it may feel like the most natural thing to do.

Things start to get rough, stress and anxiety go right up, and you stop taking care of yourself. 2015 was a brutal year for me, and what happened? I gained 2 stone! Which only compounded my problems and made everything ten times worse. Can you relate? Can you look back at key stressful times in your life and notice your healthy routine went out the window? Why is that? Why is it that when we need healthy stuff the most, we reject it?

It’s because of stress. We let stress filter through. And stress paralyses us. It literally makes us feel frozen to the point where we can do nothing. We don’t want to workout or get fresh air, even drinking water throughout the day can stop.

So what’s the way around this? How can you stop yourself feeling pulled in all directions, stressed out and frozen?

You pick three healthy habits and anchor your day with them.

For my clients it all begins with drinking enough water, getting a workout in, and some fresh air. Everything falls around those three key things. When they’re feeling good, they ramp it up in line with their goals if they need to. When life gets crazy, they bring it back to these 3 key habits.

It works so so well, and it’s a really simple system to follow that promotes consistency and repetition, which brings calm and peace to their otherwise hectic day.

Repetition of simple stuff really is key and it’s why I dislike really complicated nutritional and exercise advise. The people and products I admire the most, are the ones that keep it simple. Things don’t need to be complicated in order for them to be effective. You don’t need to count calories or points, or get your body fat percentage measured.

How are you doing? Are you feeling good? Are you fitting well in your clothes? Are you getting enough of the right type of exercise? How’s your mental health? Are you drinking enough water and getting rest? Are you laughing at all throughout the day?

These are the key, simple things that you need to stay focused on, for you to feel good, and be fit and healthy.

The hardest challenge is to focus on these things when you’re not in the mood. It’s learning how to go and do the thing when you don’t want to. Training yourself to get a workout in, no matter what. Scheduling your day around the core three things.

Taking a step back and keeping things simple help keep you focused on the bigger picture.

We have one life, one 202, one year at this age. We must make the most of it, and take care of our health and in turn lead happier, healthier lives.

I hope this helps,

Jessica Cooke
